Today is Remembrance Day

Since Remembrance Day here in Canada (or Veterans Day if you live in the US) falls on a Wednesday this year, we have decided to dedicate this week’s blog post in honour of remembering the soldiers from all countries around the world who have fought and continue to fight for our freedoms. If it were not for our fellow brave men and women fighting for our flag, then we likely would not have the luxury of being able to freely go out hunting, fishing, and simply enjoying the outdoors as we please.

A question that I just thought of, which some of you might not have considered before, is would it be disrespectful to go out hunting and/or fishing on Remembrance Day? I say it would be disrespectful not to, as our soldiers have physically fought and risked their lives in order to provide you with these kinds of freedoms. A very fitting quote for today, which I came across not to long ago, states that “when you take things for granted, then the things you are granted get taken”. We encourage you to exercise your rights and freedoms in a civil, lawful, and respectful manner today, and everyday.

No matter what kind of activity you are planning to do today, we would like to remind you to take a 2-minute moment of silence at exactly 11:00 AM out of respect for your country.

We hope everyone has an enjoyable and peaceful day today, thank you.
